The team of
Mariano Campoy Quiles in the Institute of Material Science in Barcelona has developed a method replacing hundreds of samples by a single one to study exciton diffusion length. Using optical simulation, we determine the best suitable conditions for such studies and how to correct for the optical in and out-coupling effects. We show that without those corrections the exciton diffusion length can be largely overestimated, however those effect can be strongly reduced by the properly choosing the sample structure.
