Christopher's main research focus is directed towards understanding the charge carrier dynamics in organic conjugated polymer thin-films, interfaces, and devices. In particular, Christopher has investigated ultrafast charge transfer in conjugated polymer/transition metal dichalcogenide organic/2D heterostructures, with and without plasmonic metasurfaces. Christopher has combined an array of steady-state and ultrafast optical spectroscopies to understand the influence of plasmonic and 2D materials on the exciton and free charge dynamics in conjugated polymers.
In addition, Christopher has supported investigations in trapping dynamics in metal halide perovskites at nanometer-spatial and femtosecond-temporal length scales using time-resolved photoemission electron microscopy (TR-PEEM).
